How do clinics onboard patients to Coala?

Getting a patient started with Coala only takes a few minutes. Here’s how it typically works:

  1. Register the patient in the Coala Care Portal. Add the patient’s details and set up a recording plan, for example how often and for how long the patient should take recordings.
  2. Hand out the device. Give the patient a Coala Heart Monitor at the clinic.
  3. The patient downloads the app. The Coala Care App is available in the App Store and on Google Play.
  4. The patient logs in and connects the device. The patient logs in with the login details you have created. The app then guides them step by step.
  5. The first recording. We recommend that the patient takes a first recording at the clinic to make sure everything works. The recording will then appear in both the app and the portal.

Tips for a smooth start

  • Show the patient how to place the device on the chest and how to hold it with the thumbs.
  • Explain when the patient should take recordings, for example when symptoms occur and/or at set times.
  • Remind the patient that the Coala is not intended for emergencies, and that they should call 112 if they have acute symptoms.

We provide patient instructions and quick guides that you can hand out. Contact us if you need more copies.
